How AP’s ‘conditions for accuracy’ protected it from false Paterno, Giffords death reports | Poynter.
At around 9 p.m. on Saturday night, the AP newsroom was abuzz with reports on Twitter and elsewhere that former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno had died. AP associate managing editor Ted Anthony had been tracking the story of Paterno's health since the afternoon, and he sent an email to roughly a dozen AP supervisors to make sure no one jumped the gun and declared Paterno dead.
State Of The Union Drinking Game 2012

Rick Santorum Says The Left Uses Colleges For 'Indoctrination'
According to Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, America has lost not only its entertainment industry, but also its higher education system. "Higher education was the first to go, a long time ago," he said. Bone Luge: The New Drinking Fad Food Writers Love To Hate: Gothamist
The "ice luge" booze delivery system is so over (John Cusack proves this in Hot Tub Time Machine by doing a beer luge in the Reagan era). These days it's all about the bone luge. That's where you (or someone you judge) eat the marrow out of an animal bone, thus creating a channel for a bartender to pour the booze (or blood?)

Nadal vs. Federer comes one round early - am New York
Picture this: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal meet at net following another classic Grand Slam match - one victor, one vanquished. What comes next? A ceremony, of course, with a trophy for the winner (typically Nadal) and some kind of ignomious commemorative runner-up plate for the losing rival.

Eating Disorders And The Fear Of The Ordinary « Thought Catalog
In graduate school, we have this thing we call "imposter syndrome" - the gnawing fear that you don't really belong there, that you don't have what it takes, that you somehow slipped through the cracks in the admissions process and are actually an intellectual embarrassment, an incompetent fraud who knows jack-all about anything - and that sooner or later, like the Wizard of Oz, you will be found out and exposed for the humbug you really are.
